INFORMATION CONCERNING LIMITED EDITION PRINTS BY JERRY STYBERG

WHAT IS A LIMITED EDITION PRINT?

A Limited Edition print is one of a set number of prints of the same image, the same size and produced with the same printing process. Each print is signed and numbered. Once the edition has sold out no further prints will be available.

HOW MANY PRINTS ARE IN EACH EDITION?

Each of the images in Jerry’s Limited Editions has a total of 50 prints plus artist's proofs.  The prints in each edition are numbered sequentially from 1/50 to 50/50. The number of artist’s proofs that are part of the edition will always be advised when the image is released.  Typically there are no more than 5 artist's proofs in any edition.

WHAT DO I RECEIVE WITH MY LIMITED EDITION PRINT?

Yes, Jerry’s Limited Edition prints have been signed by Jerry in pencil on the front of the print, including the edition number.

WHY DO LIMITED EDITION PRINTS COME WITH A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY?

WHAT SIZE ARE THE LIMITED EDITION PRINTS?

Each image size varies, dependent on Jerry’s artistic intent. Every print in Jerry’s Limited Edition print collection has a consistent print image measurement.  Print sizes are typically 16x20, 20x30 or larger.

WHAT ARE LIMITED EDITION PRINTS PRINTED ON?

Jerry’s Limited Edition prints are printed on museum quality 100% cotton rag, fiber-based photographic paper.

WHERE CAN I HANG MY LIMITED EDITION PRINT?

A Limited Edition print needs to be hung in a location that avoids direct sunlight, strong fumes, fluctuating temperatures and high humidity.

HOW DO I BUY A LIMITED EDITION PRINT?

In addition to obtaining a print from an art show or gallery, purchases can be made directly by contacting Jerry either by phone or email.  Visa and MasterCard are accepted.

INFORMATION ABOUT DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND PRINTING

All images in the Limited Edition print collection are printed using digital ink jet printing technology.  Archival pigment inks are used to produce giclee (pronounced g-klay) pigment prints.

The French word “giclee” is a feminine noun that means a spray or spurt of liquid.  The word may have been derived from the French verb “gicler,” meaning “to squirt.”

The term “giclee print” connotes an elevation in printmaking technology. Images are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates, including canvas, fine art and photo-base paper.  The giclee printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction. A digital pigment print, sometimes referred to as a pigmented paper print, is a digital image rendered onto an uncoated, natural fiber substrate with pigment inks.  Inks and paper used in this printing process are archival with a life expectancy of 100+ years, when properly protected from exposure to extreme environmental conditions.
